Colomina
Jorge Colomina was born in 1953 in Alcoy, in the province of Alicante, Spain. For him, Francoist Spain of the 1960s meant his parents’ emigration to Marseille. He and his brother joined them in Paris in 1963. From a young age, he expressed a passion for drawing and painting. Shortly after settling in Paris, his curiosity and love for art led him to explore the museums of the City of Light.
With a brush in hand, he learned. He persevered: sketches, studies, paintings… Finally, at thirty, he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to his art. He chose Antibes and its Mediterranean shores as the perfect setting to live out his art freely. Throughout his life, he admired Picasso, Miró, Cézanne, Matisse… studying their works and working tirelessly to find his own style. Influenced by a lifetime of inspiration, he uses vivid, dynamic colors to convey his passion and emotions.
If one were to define Colomina’s painting, it could be described as a kind of “Abstract Figuration.” From solo exhibitions to group shows, his paintings travel across France and beyond. Jorge Colomina is respected, highly regarded, and his works are auctioned at Drouot Paris by Maître Arnaud Cornette de Saint-Cyr, auctioneer.
