PETRA DORST

Petra Dorst, born in 1976, has always been driven by a deep desire to create a dream world around her—an aspiration that dates back to her childhood. This vision remains at the core of her artwork to this day. “You don’t make art… it emerges from within,” Petra explains.

Being an artist is not a choice; it’s a necessity, an irresistible urge that comes from deep within the unconscious. This drive is ever-present—creating is as essential as breathing.

For Petra, art is above all an expression of emotion, a sentiment that resonates throughout her various series. The “Stillness” series stands in contrast to “Tender Animals,” while “Tenderness,” with its abstract forms, opposes the first two. Yet, in all her works, there is a consistent sense of emotion and warmth that art should embody.
