Jean-Luc Maniouloux
Born in 1959 in Paris, Jean-Luc Maniouloux is a French visual artist whose work lies at the crossroads of visual poetry, sculpture, and the memory of the living.
A graduate of the École Supérieure des Arts Modernes (ESAM Paris), he has, since the 1990s, developed a singular body of work that combines everyday objects, naturalized insects, and transparent materials such as Plexiglas, giving rise to compositions that are both fragile and powerful.
Jean-Luc Maniouloux explores the relationship between nature and artifice, between what is ephemeral and what endures. His works, often enclosed in luminous cases, reveal the subtle beauty of living forms while questioning humanity’s place within ecological balance.
Each creation becomes a poetic microcosm, where object and insect engage in dialogue, reflecting one another and transforming into symbols of memory and suspended time.
Through his work, Maniouloux seeks to reconcile beauty and fragility, inviting the viewer to adopt a contemplative and sensitive gaze toward the surrounding world. His approach is nourished by both the formal rigor of design and a deep ecological and humanistic sensibility.
His artworks have been exhibited in numerous shows in France and abroad, and are part of private and institutional collections.
Jean-Luc Maniouloux lives and works in the Paris region, where he continues his artistic research at the intersection of the visible, the sensory, and the symbolic.
