MALINOWSKI
Malinowski is a French painter born in Poland. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He has been living in France for over 40 years working as an illustrator, poster designer, artistic director and sculptor. One of his most famous poster is the one for Luc Besson’s movie “Le Grand Bleu”.
Over the last decade, he has devoted himself entirely to easel painting. Malinowski’s works are part of collections all over the world. His last paintings are exhibited in Marciano Galleries since last year. His paintings enrich the landscape of contemporary creation in a particular and relevant way. They are remarkable for their originality, their level of sophistication and their poetry. He plays with prudishness, intimacy and secrecy in a daring manner. He masterfully brings back endless cultural and spiritual references. The characters’ looks and gestures are fascinating in these shades of white, red, and blue paintings.
His latest series of work are quite different from his wide monochromes inhabited by angelic figures. Malinowski reinvented himself and offered artworks with a work on varnish and glossy finish. The subject are taken from Art History famous paintings, as a tribute to Renaissance. You will find his latest artworks in Marciano Contemporary galleries.
