BIOGRAPHY

Brigitte Teman was a dental surgeon in the past. However, an illness suddenly forced her to rest. A hazard of existence that will nevertheless turn into a real godsend. The re-education imposed by doctors made her discover the work of the earth. This practice did not let her go, she accumulates experiences in art workshops and finally began learning about bronze. Her meeting with Mickaël Marciano confirmed her vocation. Teman closes her practice and opens her studio in order to become an artist. An extraordinary career follows. Her past activity, synonymous with a perfect knowledge of anatomy, allows her to work from memory the bodies of her subjects.

Brigitte Teman is particularly committed to the animal cause. Through her animal sculptures, she incites her spectators to question themselves about endangered species. Among her creations are the elephant, the panda, the penguin or the panther. She has observed them to satiety. Her gaze reinforces the elegance and the power of their muscles while managing to preserve the strength of their faces.

The beauty of the lines that form these animals captivate and move us. Brigitte Teman seizes the immediacy of a moment of gentleness. The roundness and the delicacy of these voluptuous features appease us. Smooth and polished, the patina disarms us then charms us. Although wild, these animals are presented to us here through their tranquility. Their formal tranquility translates their moral innocence. We are as if seized by their inner beauty. All in all, the zoomorphic universe of Brigitte Teman’s sculptures fills us with wonder by the majesty that results from it.

The artist exhibits exclusively since 2005 in the galleries Marciano Contemporary in Paris.
